So much news!
I am fortunate to find myself in a constant state of activity and productivity this year- with projects, shows, and collaborative expansions arriving in quick succession. It is all keeping me on my toes... continually pushing myself further.... dancing with this constant movement of life, influx of possibility.
I overflow with gratitude for the messages pouring in from all over over the world every day, such profound expressions of love, wonder, support, and inspiration from so many of you! It's truly incredible. Your perspectives are so cherished by me, and your kindness and appreciation often makes me smile, moves me to tears, or gives me new strength and momentum in trying or stagnate times. So, thank you. From the bottom of my heart, I say- you inspire me to be and create with all of my potential, and for this I am inexplicably grateful.
This year has been nothing short of amazing. I graduated from tattoo school, became a licensed tattoo artist and have uncovered new levels of connection and artistic journey through my work with all my ink art clients. New collaborations popping up everywhere- seeing my art on shirts, yoga clothing, in batik, and laser etched wood cuts. Designing a line of laser cut wood and leather jewelry with Laser Creative in Ontario, Canada. Super excited to be embarking on another graphite drawing collaboration with my friend, Fabián Jiménez in Mexico! Our previous collab, Creation Nexus, was pure joy to create. We're auctioning the original on Ebay, the auction ends December 9th. Here's the the Ebay listing: [link]
Also excited to share that I just opened my first showing in Australia, with the grand opening of InfinitUS- Australia's first Visionary Art gallery in Queensland. The international group exhibition features varied and incredible artwork from the world's visionary greats, with work from Amanda Sage, Autumn Skye Morrison, Adam Scott Miller, Luke Brown, Michael Divine, and Kuba Ambrose to name a few. If you're in the Kuranda, Queensland please make it out to witness the beauty and inspiration. The show will remain up through the end of February 2013.
In more local news, I'm opening a show next week on December 6th in downtown Portland, Oregon at the Backspace cafe and gallery on NW 5th Avenue. If you live in Portland I encourage to come out and meet me/see my work in person... I love meeting people who appreciate my work here in my home city. There's the rest of the First Thursday art exhibits, food, and music shows in the area to be enjoyed as well.
Starting today and running through the end of the year I am offering a discount coupon for 20% off any purchase from my Etsy shop! Just enter the coupon code: "INSPIRE" at checkout to activate your discount. You can find my Etsy here: [link]
I just started creating my website yesterday! I am sooooo happy to have this project underway! It's been way too long to be without so I'm taking matters into my own slightly tech-inefficient/un-savvy hands, learning lots of new things and working CSS magic until my fingers beg for respite. My goal is to have it all lovely, shiny-new, and fully functional for a New Year debut.
I am now using my twitter account as well, so follow me on twitter for consistent updates on my new works in progress, events, blog posts, quotes, and testimonials. You can find my twitter account here: [link]
Finally, as always, feel free to contact my if you'd like to schedule a tattoo appointment or commission me to create a custom design or portrait. You can send me a note, or contact my via my email: laurialisis@gmail.com. And please- write me any time with thoughts, feelings, art, dreams, or collaborative inklings you might have in relation to my work. I love to hear them all. Wishing you boundless inspiration, and keenly felt joy. Cheers, beautiful people! ♥
